The Headcount Trends API returns employee headcount signals for any company, sourced from LinkedIn. A single request returns the current total employee count, a month-by-month historical headcount series, growth rates over several trailing lookback windows (typically 6, 12, and 24 months), and a breakdown of current headcount by job function such as Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Arts and Design each with its own function-level growth rates. Headcount growth is one of the more reliable proxies for a private company’s trajectory: sustained hiring across functions signals expansion, concentrated growth in a single function (e.g. Sales or Engineering) can signal a shift in go-to-market strategy or product investment, and headcount contraction can be an early signal of a slowdown, restructuring, or distress well before it shows up in public news coverage. This is a synchronous GET API. Pass a company identifier and receive the full response immediately. The response also reports the credits consumed by the request.
This API is synchronous. Results are returned directly in the HTTP response. No job submission or polling required.
